The Mirror The MirrorThe Mirror by ~Kieran11
To be read aloud.
With the waning of the moonlight,
on one morning in July,
Apollo came a-riding,
as I crack'd a bleary eye.
Like all the days a'fore this,
I was greeted with a yawn,
by the likeness in my mirror,
as the window drapes were drawn.
My mirror was a large one;
a golden blossomed silver sea.
Yet on that morning in July,
something troubled me.
My mirror in its days and nights
had only ever seen,
the inside of my chamber,
so comfortable and clean.
It saw my servants come and go
as they went about their chores:
from the drawing of the velvet drapes,
to the cleaning of the floors.
